I wanted to tell all GMC Motorhome owners and other motorhome owners about how the cash for clunker program has helped me with my 78 Transmode.
My buddy owns a junkyard here in Toledo, OH and told me that he received about 22 conversion vans into his inventory thanks to the Cash for Clunkers program. I have stripped my GMC down to bare bones because I am dedicating mine to football tailgating and the "golf trip" mobile so I am basiclaly starting from scratch on how I want my GMC setup.
So, in these vans I found great "aircraft type lighting" and 9 beautiful leather chairs.
I know, "who wants all those chairs" but I do, because of the design of my coach. However, these junkyards have fans, electric fixtures and an assortment of other RV/Van items.
I picked up 9 leather chairs (that do match) for $225 and 6 aircraft lights for an additional $10.
This is not tradional GMC stuff but it can be incorporated into those "projects" or to replace some existing equipment. I am sure this is not right for everyone but it sure was fun digging around some spectacular vans.
