I had the same problem with my first pair of bi-focals�more than�ten years ago. I solved the problem by getting my eyes cut. I have forgotten the term for what was done, but the eye lenses were re-shaped. They do it now with a lazer but when I had it done, it was with a blade.�I've got one eye for reading and the other for distance. Not perfect, but keeps me from having to wear glasses of any kind any more.
