How does one remove the inner dust cap without having to destroy it as I had to do? There's no way, that I can see at least with common tools, how to get that out with the conventional dust cap removal tool (or carefully tap it off with a screwdriver and hammer as is easily done on the outer dust cap that I suspect many of us have done).

That thing is so buried in there with the way the drum is attached...have I missed something obvious???

One thread mentions how the outer cap is regarded as redundant and one member just leaves it off. I would prefer just leaving off the inner one and just using the outer one. What say you all or is there a slick tool that exists to remove that inner cap? Thanks in advance.
