long story short we overheated 124 miles from tucson in phoenix on our way to disney and some Miguel love at MGM-GMC. humming right along with traffic etc, start hearing a noise. i think maybe speedo cable as the needle has a little bounce in it. , couple of surges, Hmm maybe some loss of fuel? swap tanks, see the gauge move from full to 3/4 another surge, flip the switch to add the electric fuel pump, maybe d. call AAreaded heat soak? start loosing power, and the temp gauge moves from just over a 1/4 to over 3/4. we stall out at the top of the off ramp. I-10 headed west and 38th Ave. Call AAA, get stuff lined up. hissing and POP! wait a bit and open the passenger side cover. the overflow tank lid has popped and is the point of origin to the coolant now on the pavement. HMMM, 20 min later if fill back up with 50-50, the two gallons i have does not top us up. coach starts and we roll a bit down the road to QT for more analyzing. get more coolant top up...idling fine, temp looks good. oh wait, there's a steam shower coming out the tail pipe. guess i've got one or more clean combustion chambers. bummer. AAA sent out a wonderful gent named Ken from Western Towing and we talked GMC. he wanted to pick from the back but understood that was a no no with front wheel drive. he got us a trailer rig instead. nice end to a stressful situation.the fam and i packed up into the follow vehicle and off to Disney. the niece guided the coach to rest back at the Casa. will be pulling heads etc next week. getting to know the rig slowly but surely, still quite happy with this purchase and have plenty value left to sink back in it.
