We got back yesterday PM from our Summer trip. This time to Burro Mountain Homestead (https://www.burromountainhomestead.com/) just south of Silver City, NM.

The trip went well with only a couple of small glitches. The first problem was that the Onan shut it's self down a couple miles outside of Lordsburg, after running for maybe 2.5 hours with the roof air on. I stopped and tried to re-start it and then checked the fuel pump output after it wouldn't start. No fuel. This is from a two year old "direct fit" Facet fuel pump from Applied GMC. I had this problem with the original pump and had been running a Mr Gasket pump, but had mixed results with that one as well. It seems that it overheated and shut down. When we arrived at the RV park I tried it and it started right up.

The second issue was that after we got to Burro Mountain, after a 200 mile trip and about a 4000' climb, the starter would not respond to the switch, not even a click. I tried the usual things with the gear selector and the tilt, as well as the boost switch, but still nothing. I had Kathy hold the key in the start position while I crawled under the coach and as soon as I tapped the solenoid, it started right up. Guess it's time to replace the starter or at least fix the solenoid.

The trip home was uneventful, the Onan ran the roof air all the way from Willcox to Tucson (about 85 miles, and the starter worked fine until I went to start it up to back it into the parking space, then same thing, it took a tap on the starter to get it going again. Other than that, the coach ran great and pulled all the grades at 45 or above in high gear, towing the Tracker. Love that new engine with the Jim Bounds Kryptonite cam.
