Some might recall my posting here last spring about my coach having different size rear bearing retaining studs on each side. I only noticed this when I did the pre-load torque on the bearings and found the nut was a larger size when I went to do the Driver's side. I measured the driver's side stud to be 7/8" while the passenger side is 3/4"

The large tanged flat washer is the same on both sides, so on the smaller passenger side the tang can come out of the slot allowing it to spin. The closest washer I can find with a large outer diameter was from Dorman. It is still 1/2" smaller OD than the OEM washer (1.75"vs 2.25" for the OEM washer). The Dorman washer is about the size of the bearing inner race OD, whereas the OEM washer covers the rollers and cage as well.

Will this smaller OD washer be an issue? I suspect in case of a bearing burn-up, the larger washer will hold the wheel on the coach longer before coming off. But they all seem to come off when that happens. I'd rather not have the washer be able to spin on the stud.

I know there was a smaller spindle used on the first coaches and they were recalled and replaced with larger spindles, bearings and hubs. However I'm sure this smaller 3/4" stud spindle is not part of this recall since the bearings are the same on both sides.

Opinions? Insights?

Here is some photos of the OEM vs new washer.
