Correction, while I am a director of GMCMI as NW Area VP, I am not the GMCMI FMCA Representative, John Smyrski is. I do serve as FMCA Rep for GMCCascaders and Chair the FMCA National Review Council - the independent group charged with investigating allegations of malfeasance on the part of an FMCA Officer, Director, member, club, employee or organizational unit. In effect, the Review Council acts like an Attorney General for the Organization.
While it is easy for a GMC owner to be offended by the implications in the article, the proper point of redress is with the Editor of the magazine (rgould@fmca.com) and the author of the article (jjohnson@fmca.com). If the author had stated that what the owners had done to that GMC made it undriveable, or that thousands of FMCA members are owners of GMC Motorhomes who praise the ride and drive of a properly restored GMC and regularly drive them all over North America there would be far less of a feeling that the GMC ox had been gored.
“From junker to undriveable museum display for only $500,000” might have been a more appropriate title for the article. A well written letter to the editor will make the point.

I just talked to Jerry Work, the FMCA liaison for GMCI. He had heard a little about the article but hadn't seen it yet. He said he would look into it.
I also wrote a reply to the magazine telling them that this article doesn't say why the couch was a bad driver and that by not saying anything about
the way it was put together was basically stating that the GMC is a bad vehicle.
So much for telling the whole story. My question is why it this THING so important other than it belonging to people with more money than brains. FMCA
is litterly throwing the GMC under the bus.
Tks...
