After the fiasco with the DeRale outboard cooler, and the input from people who run with no oil cooler at all, I've ordered a set of J.R.s lines since the originals are long gone and I would of done the replacement even if they weren't. The cooler has been open since the radiator was recored several months ago, so I took my geewhiz cheap Banggood inspection camera and had a look in both holes. Alls I could see was solder where the flues come into the headers and the flues themselves, all of which looks clean. Before hookup though, I'll flush it in reverse with hot water through a cloth filter and inspect for any particles which might be in the flues. Then some denatured alcohol to remove all the water. Then hook it up and go. I think I'm going to do the next trip - to Augusta and back - bobtailed and with the cooler to see what difference towing makes to oil temp, performance, and fuel burn.
