Hope this isn't a silly question, but I've been thinking of wrapping the exhaust pipes and mufflers with some of the insulating products (header wraps, muffler shields, etc)found on the performance equipment sites. Thinking this might reduce the amount of heat delivered back to the gas tanks. (I already added heat shields between the tanks and the tailpipe similar to those used on California coaches. Seem to help a bit.) Just wondering if anyone has tried this approach, and what your results were.
