I am finally (2 years waiting) getting started renovating the Aluminum Falcon after getting it covered and inside the RV-port. You may see a photo of the 54K mile rig and a list of the parts I’ve collected so far.
Will carefully remove the interior paneling to run new wiring to forward vent and fans and then instal fire retardant foam insulation, build new birch plywood cabinets, LED lighting, flooring, and fire extinguisher in engine compartment and in back of refrigerator and then cover it up again. Would the aluminum covered insulation work better than the foam?
Underneath will replace fuel, water, brake, and air lines: put two metal heat baffles over the mufflers, and upgrade to Albert’s emergency brake and reaction bar.
I have not seen much about catalytic furnaces and on-demand or tankless water heaters. We plan on boon docking so would like to extend remote stays with energy conservation and solar power. The AF does have a 4KW Onan - maybe remove and install additional battery back up, or keep. I think I noticed the present water heater has a connection to engine water system and no leaks.
