I am now the proud owner of a 1978 Kingsley and I will readily admit I am a bit overwhelmed. Overall I feel like the coach is in pretty good shape but I am trying to address one issue at a time. Engine and tranny have been rebuilt and the drive train components seem to be OK.
In trying to start the generator it sounds like the batteries need to be charged. It will turn over a couple of times and then stop. The crusty compartment has 2 golf cart batteries that I assume are 6 volt and are for the generator (parallel connections). The water levels appear to be ok but I will top them off a bit.
In all my reading of the manuals and diagrams I do not see where the converter will charge these batteries. My question is should I go ahead and try to charge the batteries with my charger on it's 6 volt setting? And once I have them charged will running the generator keep them charged?
Thanks
BTW: on GMCMI the link to 'X7821A | 1978 Owner's Operating Manual' opens the transmode manual version. Did they not make a 1978 owner's manual?
