Hello All, I hope everyone is having a nice summer.
I'm closing in on the completion of my interior renovation - 1975 Coahmen built 26' Royale, dry bath with shower unit.
I am in the process of re-doing the bathroom.
After running the main sink (front lounge) for a few minutes I noticed a fair bit of water leaking onto the floor, it appeared to be coming from the area below the bathroom shower.
When I run the water in the main sink for 2 - 3 minutes I hear a gurgling sound in the bathroom and shortly thereafter I see the water coming up into the shower through the drain, it drains slowly after turning the running water off.
I disconnected and removed the P-trap from under the shower, cleaned it up and re-fit it, tried running the water again and still water backs up into the shower, but no more leaking on the shop floor.
It sounds as though the gurgling sound may indicate a venting issue?
Tried to snake from the shower back with no change.
Tried snaking the vent pipes from the roof top down in case a nest or something else may have been causing a blockage, no change.
Because I'm re-doing the bathroom I decided to remove some of the ABS piping to allow better access to clear a possible blockage to the tank, no luck.
I'm not sure what else I can try to address this issue, it seems to be caused by the water flow being restricted causing air flow to be reduced to the point when I hear the gurgling followed by water backing up into the shower area.
As always your ideas and suggestions are welcome and appreciated.
Regards,
Mike
