Hi matt,

I don’t know about MI, but out here in Orgun our Onans run like a top on propane right out of the stock tank. I recommend installing a second two stage regulator in parallel with the stock two stage regulator just to feed the Onan. Never have seen or experienced freezing of the regulator with that set up. Onan starts instantly and runs at a constant speed with no hunting so all the 120vac stuff also purrs like a kitten. I did a presentation at GMCWS in Coos Bay, OR, last October and an article for the GMCMI magazine explaining just how easy it is to do, the benefits, and provided lots of info on fuel consumption, etc.

The good news is it is not an either/or situation. The installation I recommend is done so you can select gas or propane via one toggle switch that can be mounted anywhere in your coach. If anyone is interested see the magazine or download the presentation from either GMCWS or GMCMI web sites.

Gene,

As simple as this might sound to you, do you realize that one has to purchase a new propane tank to do this right. I used to have two pieces of LP
fueled equipment. Either side of both weeks of Michigan summer they were true PITAs. If you pull gas out of the LP tank, the tank sub-cools and the
flow stops. When I changed to a forkup trunk tank with a liquid withdrawal and a vaporizer, at least I could use the equipment in the spring when we
needed it.

I don't need to go through that again. We use the coach in both the spring and fall. (Outside of winter, that is what most of the time that is not
winter in Michigan.)
