Started as one question and ended up being two (red circle and green circle). The picture is up in the front under the left "hood":

1. What is the thing in the Red circle and what does it do? The power lead wire going through the firewall was run into the fuse box with the 30 amp SUS AIR circuit breaker.

2. Does all that "gunk" on the backside of the plug look normal? When I looked at the picture the first time it looked like the plug was melted/burned. When I went back out to the coach it looks more like something used to protect the back of the plug from the elements.
