If I remember correctly from the John Clement presentation at Berrien Springs, you should not lubricate the compressor. This goes against my inate drive to lubricate anything that moves. I can think of all the things I have fixed since childhood with a simple drop of oil. It would seem a light (invisible) film of Synpower on the pistons and crank pins would be a good thing. Along with a drop of light machine oil on the motor bearings. This is a possible winter PM project I am thinking of looking at so any insights welcome. Also, is the stock setup on a 77 just a one way check valve or is there pressure relief involved as well for easier compressor starting akin to a shop compressor. Thanks.
