Our coach will be headed to Orlando on Friday to so the Jim's team can inspect her and we can come up with a repair plan. so here are the issues / decision points, I know many of you have faced these same questions so any input is greatly appreciated:
1.Wheels- She has the 16.5 Weld wheels and needs new tires so the first decision is Alcoas or Jimk's Eagles. My previous experience with the chromed cap lug nuts is they are a PITA and I much prefer stainless. That and the price has me leaning toward the Eagles, although the difference in price over the next 20 yrs I plan on enjoying the GMC is peanuts. My goal is achieve the most reliable and highest quality vehicle I can.
2. Tires- for the new wheels
3. Paint- . I am poring over every one I can find. I really like the original grill and headlight buckets versus the body color and since the wrecked cracked the grill I might as well address that. I love the frameless window but I think they will bust the budget. My trip in 95 degree weather also convinced me of the value of a visor. I am also thinking about removing the front clearance marker lights and replacing them with this

4. MAC Dash- the beloved PO installed numerous switches such as a separate one to power up the AC fan, controls for the switch pitch trans, a separate power switch for the radio etc. there are also several towing related switches and controls that the owner was unable to explain due to a failing memory.
5. Headliner- my wife is not a big fan of the hull liner ceiling and wants it replaced.
6. I am also going to have the coach's mechanicals and systems inspected since my broken shoulder is keeping me from doing most of it. I am concerned about the front end since the left front took a direct hit but the wheel is straight and it drove fine on the 5 hrs drive back home.
Issues- generator will not start from inside and is stalling after approx 5 -10 min run time and is very hot. Fridge will not work on gas, cools great on electric. I know that one would be an easy kill but I can't hardly work on anything till, the end of August when I start physical therapy.
