Hi Rick,

Our coaches only have a three speed trans so it is obvious from the tach which gear you are in. Most shift quickly from first to second and will stay in second only under strong acceleration. Best test is third gear on flat land at 60 mph. Look on JimKs site(applied gmc) to see the chart of speeds with different gear ratios. If you still are not sure it is shifting, drop down to 40 mph in third gear and note the RPMs. Shift manually into second. If the RPMs jump up significantly you are shifting. If not, you are not. But, from what you posted I think you are and likely have 3.07 stock gearing.

I reconnected the wire to the kick-down solenoid and drove it and now it appears to be shifting properly again. I'll go with the hope that I touched and corrected whatever was causing it... I plan on driving it as much as I can this week before we leave just to make sure.
Other than RPM's is there any indication that the transmission is actually shifting thru all 3 gears?
