I would like to thank each person who took the time to help troubleshoot my
powerless brakes. I found the vacuum reservoir check valve defective and
replaced it and brakes were 50% better but still required a good deal of
force to "Wow" it up. After I got home from our six day trip from King, N.C
to Henrietta Texas(2,450 miles) the brakes had deteriorated considerably
more. I got under the hood "*again*" and this time I could here whistling.
I run my hand around the vacuum chamber and Wah-la....there it was. My hand
was sucked in toward the rubber plug in side of vacuum booster. I suppose
the dummy plug is there in case you want to pull vacuum from either side of
chamber depending upon the vehicle it is being installed in. I temporarily
duct taped the hole and Wah-la again, I have brakes. Again, thank each of
you that helped point me in the correct direction.
