In my renovation, I have removed several Quest fittings, elbows valves and
other do-dads from the galley sink supply lines installed by the PO. I
think there was one of everything from the Quest catalog. I'm back to
'good' Quest behind the drawers ('78 Kingsley, driver side galley.)
I know that Quest Poly-B is a unique size, and found a Sharkbite fitting (
U4008LF
),
which I consider to be the easy way out. Home Depot
has them for $9 at some stores.
I was trying to find a Poly-B to 1/2" NPT male, and then get longer tails
for my single hole faucet. This would be only one set of fittings.
Since I can't find that type of fitting, the one above would let me build
out to short 1/2" PEX extensions, then crimp on 1/2" M-NPT fitting (or
double down with two more Sharkbites) and connect the faucet tails.
I'm asking here for the wisdom of the great GMC networked mind to see what
others have done. The rest of the Quest seems to be in good shape, so I'm
not re-piping everything, even though I have removed enough fittings to
open a hardware store stocked full of obsolete parts.
