My new used coach has a later model steering column with the newer cruise control setup - engage button on the stalk end and an off-on-accel/resume slide switch. The cruise system works in every mode, but hunts more than it should i.e. there's way too much hysteresis in the system. Sags more than (I think) it should, then overcompensates, repeats. I suspect this, along wth the 3.7 gearset, leads to the not great mileage I'm getting. I'll note, the coach has a Mac dash, I haven't determined whether there's a resolver for the speedo or it's mechanical. It has a bit of jitter at some speeds, but the jitter at the gauge at least doesn't seem to correspond to the cruise action.
Is there a way to tighten the set window deviation on these systems? I suppose I can always go back to the original setup like my other coach, which works, but that seems like a PIA incurred to regress.
