I removed the old AC unit that was at the rear and replaced it with a "Fantastic Fan” All’s well there. The front roof vent has also been removed (it was original with out a fan)
Now I want to install a new AC unit over the existing front vent opening. It appears that the Carrier AC unit I have sits on foam pads that surround the 14”x14” opening. I am concerned that there is no waterproof dam to keep any water out of the opening. Am I missing a component? What is the usual method of waterproofing this opening?
The foam pad in 1/2” thick by 1-1/2” wide (is quite firm) and measures 14” x 14” on the inside.
Any help would be appreciated.
