I have received my three heathen chinee cameras. Now I need a solution which does a horizontal screen split and a vertical screen split using NTSC video input. I propose to put the backup camera on the top half of a small display, and the two rear mirror mount cameras on either side of the bottom half. The cameras, at 8 bux each, are just over half an inch square, run on 5V, and output NTSC video on a 75 ohm line. I could build up one 5V supply, but three pin regulators are so cheeep it's probably simpler to just run one for each camera and feed them house battery for power. Probably less expensive than wires to each from a common supply. It looks like a salt shaker with a piece of window glass epoxied to the top may well make a nice waterproof mount/heatsink for them. Or a cheap small waterproof flashlight with the guts removed. Anybody got a couple of small MagLites kicking around?
