Always wondered why coolant gauge showd 90 celcius while my thetmostat is a 82 celcius (180 F). Now that i drove without a working alternator and a voltage of just above 12 V. It showed 82 C. Guess it is a 12 volt sender/gauge that shows to much with 14 V
