So, Jim Bounds group is just about finished with the restoration of my 23 ft Birchaven. Some of you may recognize or remember it as “Chauncy” on Jims COOP website.
I will be flying back next week to help with the final detailing, and of course I will be doing a few close in test trips around the Orlando area before I head off to the West Coast. Once I leave Orlando, I am planning on taking a leisurely 6 to 8 weeks for my return trip, bringing the coach back to California. I hope to keep you all posted on my trip and adventures. This will be my first major cross country trip and am a bit apprehensive, but that’s another story. I do have my “Black List” handy. smile emoticon
Right now I am looking for suggestions for campgrounds / destinations that you all have liked in your journeys. Since it is getting close to winter, I’ll be taking a southern route, but am also deviating from the south to hit some locations mid america if the weather permits. Though I have many destinations already in mind, I am also looking to what others have found that would be fun to add to my list.
I’d like to spend about half of my time “off the grid” so am also looking for federal lands, parks etc. where I can use my “senior” America the beautiful pass. Also, I am a semi professional photographer, so Kodak photo opportunity points and locations (I’m sure many of you remember those signs) would be greatly appreciated.
Please don’t be reticent to through out ideas for me, as this is going to be my first amazing adventure in my new coach.
Regards to all
