Bob,

First, there are a whole of us here crying with you. Such a hit can't be easy.

I think you should contact Jim Miller (either would do). The Jims salvaged a TZE driveline by cutting the frame and rolling it out as a unit. If you did that, and carefully cut loose the bogies, you could then roll the carcass up on one side and salvage the fuel tanks as well. Then you bring everything of real value home on a small trailer.
