I was trying to awake my Onan from its slumber this past weekend using the
guide from Gene Fisher's site.

When I got to the step for testing the fuel pump, the pump ran, but I got
no fuel.

I discovered that the fuel line from the tank to the generator is
completely missing.

I was thinking I was going to have to drain my tanks and drop them to fix
this, but a few minutes ago I crawled under there and found this plugged,
cut-off hose coming out of the rear tank on the driver's side:

(photo is looking to the rear)

I was under the impression that the generator fuel supply came off the top
of the tank, but that hose makes me think I might be wrong.

Does the Onan get its fuel from the side of the tank on a 1973 26' Painted
Desert?

If not, then does anyone have any theories as to the purpose of that
cut-off hose in my picture?
