Hi Justin,
Propane has about 96000 btus per gallon. Depending on year, etc. your furnace will likely consume 30000 to 40000 btus per hour of operation so will run for two to three hours on one gallon or around 10 to 15 hours on five gallons. Your furnace will not run full time unless it is very cold out and your tank may not be all the way full or able to supply a full 5 gallons as most places will only put 4 gallons in a 5 gallon tank. Your GMC propane tank holds around 12 gallons when full or about three x the BBQ style tanks. Hope you can use this info to answer your questions. BTW, the GM finished coaches usually did not have propane hot water heaters. When we take off for an extended trip in our Royale (which does have a propane water heater) we hardly ever even think about propane unless it is winter time. The furnace does use a lot of propane but the stove, refer and hot water heater do not.

Hey Guys as I am working on my remodel, I would like to rid myself of the huge propane tank and convert to a grill cylinder or 2. ( I need the space
in the LP compartment for batteries)
I just don't want to regret it later!
My question is how long will a grill tank last?
I'll be running water heater, heater, stove and fridge on propane. (assume boondocking for this discussion).
I know the stove water heater and fridge have very low consumption and shouldn't be an issue for a weekend, but what about the furnace? Anyone know
the consumption on a cool night?
I'm not opposed to carrying an extra tank for cold trips, but I'd like to have enough for it to not be inconvenient every trip out.
