When Ken Hen said he had a buy on belts I remarked that my alternator belt is longer than normal because the pulley is larger... I have had to change it though several alternators.
Now that the Jack Stand Queen is actually driving I was changing out my 415th fan clutch. I decided to check the numbers on my belts. It came as a rude shock that none of my belts seem to be what the book calls for. Amazement would not do and I had to resort to astonishment.
The interchange book says:
AC:
Goodyear 15634 Mine is a Goodyear 15606 It also says 11AV1525
Alternator:
Goodyear 15574 Mine is a Goodyear 15585 It also says 11AV1475
Power Steering:
Goodyear 15466 Mine is a Goodyear 15450 and also says 11AV1130
My Goodyear # is a Dayco # - 15450 but a Goodyear belt
I used to think I knew some things and that the inner number was the length. So I thought the AC was a 60 and it looks like the book says 63... WHich seems pretty long. I would have to mount the AC pump outside the fender.
Alternator would be 1" shorter which might let me use a regular pulley.
Power steering seems an inch short and I am not sure I care.
My belts look good and run high in the pulleys but we are going to do some long distances in the future so I want spares.
Guidance will be appreciated.
