Recently we were unfortunate to have our GMC towed, but in the process we learned quite a bit. Our coach's front bumper had been damaged by the previous owner where somebody clearly lifted it by connecting something to the frame and lifted the front end, bending up the front bumper by a few inches right in the middle at its weakest point. Not sure if it was from actually towing it or not, but since the nose of the GMC extends out a few feet from the frame, lifting with a chain from the frame puts a lot of stress on the front bumper. The place that towed us home used a rig that lifts the coach by the front wheels, eliminating any stress on the frame or bumper itself. The rig is a type of heavy duty wheel lift that slides up to the front wheels, then locks on to them and lifts them from the ground. It was challenging to find somebody that understood exactly what type of coach we had in that it's front wheel drive with 6 wheels, etc. AAA was able to confirm the model as an actual GMC and that is is front wheel drive, and arrange for a heavy duty towing company to handle it properly.

I understand that finding somebody with this equipment may be a challenge, but hopefully it's good info to have on hand in case you need it. We had never seen this type of rig before for as heavy of a vehicle as the GMC. Also, we did air up the bags more than normal and raise the back end an extra couple of inches before the truck arrived to make sure the rear end was as high as possible. It worked out so that the rear bumper was several inches off the ground.
