A question for the Collective.
Bought my 230 in 2002. It had a very nice set of OEM airbags on it.
Likely not original since they would have been nearly 30yrs old at that
time.
I've kept them in pristine shape since. Always covered them if they
were facing the sun and kept them clean and "treated" with 303 Protectant.
Someone suggested that I should be treating these as tires and that I am
running on borrowed time with them. Being a mechanical engineer but not
a tire/airbag engineer I refuted that claim as best I could. Also ran
it by a couple co-workers who were torn on the subject.
I've been on this List since before I bought the coach. I've never once
seen a comment that externally good airbags should be replaced before
they blow.
Anyone? Do we have a tire/airbag engineer handy?
Kelvin
