I'm currently changing to 80mm calipers, after a catastrophic hub/knuckle failure.
Test fitted the 80mm caliper and installed the 16" Steel Rim this morning. The final answer;
"It's fits."
You do have to grind the nub down on the caliper, as someone else posted, and trial fit the caliper. I had to remove a very little bit of the caliper or hub (less than 1/16") in one spot to allow the 80mm caliper to seat against the hub.
There is plenty of clearance between the rim and the body of the caliper.
