We seem to be Sunday-engineering the future integration of present-day monitoring technology with the GMC over the last day or two. Surviving GMCs are ripe for it, of course. In many cases it will simplify and reduce costs while providing a better -or previously unavailable- system. Just take a look at how much we DON'T need to spend on entertainment systems for the coaches now.

So here is a presentation at the 2013 ToorCon. Proprietary tire monitoring systems ($$$$) are about to go open-source. They just don't know it. Yet.
