I received this e-mail from Luke Pertowski. I talked with Luke and what they did was to buy another brand filter and compare it to their's. He thanked me for bringing this to his attention. They will be more stringent on their QA. It seems that we GMC owners are there biggest customers for this filter. I would buy APT from now on. But check the fit guys. If it's fit is loose, take it back and get another filter. I received the check today.

Hello Tom,

Sorry for getting back to you so late, we ran a more in-depth analysis of this filter to our specification. It does appear that although within specs, the filter you sent was close to the minimum specification. Although this should work in a perfect world, I wonder if it compromised how the o-ring seated or where in the production tolerance your transmission is, both are variables. It also does appear that the one you sent is a rather isolated case, as it is not the norm to produce so close to the minimum specification this is now amended.

If you can forward over your invoice from Co-Operative Automotive, I would be happy to issue you a credit for the cost of the filter, fluid and labor. I truly do appreciate your support with us tracking down a potential root cause.
