A few day ago someone stated that you could tow a 2WD, 5 speed Tracker four wheel down with out problems. That is incorrect information. The owners manual which I looked at today states that it cannot be towed 4 wheels down as it will cause damage to the transmission. We are at a GMCGL rally and my next door neighbor tows a tracker pointed this out to me as he had be watching the phorm. The tracker that he tows now had been towed for several year before he got it and after about 200 miles the output shaft bearing seized. If you want to flat tow a 2wd manual or automatic tracker you will need to get a Remco driveshaft disconnect. A much cheaper option is to get a 5 speed manual for a 4WD and install in place of the 2WD 5 sp unit. That is what he did and now he can put the transfer case in N and tow just like the rest.
