The drain in the rear bath sink has always leaked a little. Today I took it apart and found a strange thing. There is no physical attachment between the sink and the drain pipe. The sink just has a smooth nipple on the bottom that fits into a cup on the end of the ABS pipe. It doesn't even fit all that snugly. The rest of the plumbing is typical collars and washers.
Is this normal? Shouldn't there at least be some plumbers putty in the "cup"
