Ken,
Is there any news on your EGT setup? To recap your adventure so far, you got one of those dual digital EGT setups and mounted the thermocouples (sending units) down the header pipes a few inches from the cast iron manifolds. You used two, one on each side. The experience was that it showed 1400 degrees F during mild cruise conditions. Due to your experience with the exhaust valve overheating in its guide and sticking, breaking the valve pedestal in your Cadillac 500, you were concerned with the indicated high temperature of the exhaust. Consensus at Montgomery was that possibly, the indication was inaccurate. I have heard that since then, you have acquired a dual needle meter and are planning on installing that in your instrument panel, but have had home based projects to complete first. Since you sometimes make progress and enquiring minds don't notice, I am hoping for an update. It is also a hope that someone else has made some progress on theirs, while our MH is succumbing to entropy.
Best,
Carey
