So I am cleaning up the area under the coach, in preparation of installing the freshened fuel tanks, wiping things down when I wiped a brake line...and then it starts oozing fluid:

I know I should be thankful it happened in the driveway and not on the road, but I seethed at the new hell this wicked mistress thrust upon me...

So after a few adult beverages and some quiet reflection I chose to soldier on. Those of you who saw my photo of the new combo valve the local shop installed probably cringed at what they did to the hard lines:

So I kind of knew the lines needed to be replaced at some point.

I went with Polyarmor. I replicated what I had in the coach, which may or may not have been original. They were crusty enough to be 38 years old, and other than the combo valve fiasco looked to be unmolested. The run from the combo to the rear T used two 60" pre-made sticks of 1/4" and one 40". I used the 40 up front, and trimmed it to fit since it needed a 1/2-20 to connect to the rear of the Combo. This seemed to be close to the original config.

The lines to the MC were over 60" long, so I had to use rolls 0f 1/4 and 3/16. The 1/4" line was connected to the front MC port with a 1/2-20 fitting, and to the rear top of the combo Valve with a 7/16 fitting. The 3/16 was connected to the rear port of the MC and to the front port of the combo with 1/2-20's on both ends. Does this sound right? Coach was stopping on a dime and giving change when it ran last.

Driver side combo to brake I used a 20" 3/16 pre-made line - I hate flaring lines.

Just have the rear two and the run to the passenger side left...


76 Birchaven - "Wicked Mistress" - New engine, trans, alum radiator, brakes, Sully airbags, fuel lines, seats, adult beverage center... those Coachmen guys were really thinking about us second hand owners by including that beverage center... Columbia, SC.
