Hi Karen,

Baffles are really easy to do. Buy a square or two of the jig saw puzzle type anti-fatigue mat. These are a dense foam about 3/8" thick and around 2' square with jig saw interlocking edges so you can put them together for a floor covering. You will find them at places like HF and some big box stores. Costco has them once in a while as well. The foam is easy to cut with a utility knife and holds its shape and position well. Use cardboard to make templates to direct the air flow where you want it, then transfer those shapes to the foam. Use wire ties pushed through the foam to hold everything in place. Faster to do than to describe. I like to use external fan assisted oil coolers on the transmission and/or engine oil so baffle most air from the grill through the radiator but also place baffles to direct air beside the radiator baffle and through the external oil cooler as well. You can usually move the chassis battery outboard with a plate bolted to the stock battery
tray enough to make room for the fan cooled external radiator placed at a bit of an angle between the radiator and the battery. In cold weather it is easy to block some of the air flow through that external cooler so as not to over cool the transmission oil. No issue where you live! Baffles on the sides are adequate from my experience but it is also easy to fabricate a lower scoop if you really want more air flow through the bottom of the radiator. No gain from baffling the top of the radiator according to Ken Henderson.

Hey Kerry, Armand Minnie did a very nice write-up about the air baffles he installed, and the effect on the fan clutch.
See:

Baffles are on my wish list...
