Be VERY careful when trying to cut any round object on a band saw. The teeth entering at the top are behind the point of contact with the table which can cause the teeth to catch and spin the object with great force so fast you will never know what happened. The only way to do this safely is to build a special fixture to hold the hockey puck well away from your fingers. Believe me, I know of what I speak here! I have been designing and hand crafting fine furniture for a lot of decades and still have all my pinkies. I want you to keep all of yours, too. Cheers,

Hockey pucks cut in half work OK. That is, half thickness.
Freeze them and cut on a bandsaw.
