Seem to never have enough 110 wall plugs anymore. So when I widened the entry door by 7 inche for Linda's wheelchair. I decided that it would be a good time to change the two plug outlet box to a quad box. And as long as I'm in the mood. Add a few more elsewhere. My problem was that I wasn't able to find a quad box that was shallow enough to fit our outside wall thickness. Came to the conclusion that I'll have to make an existing box fit. I went to Menards and found a tan fibrous quad outlet box to modify. I felt that the blue ones were too flimsy to work well. I then sawed off the back of the box to fit that outside wall thickness. Used my table saw to make the cut square. I then removed the foam insulation that's on the outside wall. Thus the outside skin of the couch would become the back of the box. That would then give me an enclosed box again. I then used some half by half by eight inch aluminum angle to attach the box to the wall. I can now plug 8 things in where I c
ould plug in 2 before. NO more power strips. Also added some boxes for cable, and 12 volt.
