Yeh.  If I had known they were gonna quit making it I would have stocked up.  I suppose iif you snorted the stuff or drank it it would have been dangerous.  We must protect ourselves from ourselves, seems as if.
My transmission guy has a gee whiz pressure hot hot hot water washing machine to clean up transmission cases.  He syas it doesn't get them as clean as the old solvents did, but it takes longer.  I don't think the machine was cheap either.
I suspect one of the ways the Heathen Chinee beat us on price is they still use the Gunk and take the savings.

I ga-ron-tee that when I drained the Gunk (whether Hydroseal or normal) out of the bathtub and rinsed the parts off with a hot
shower EVERY bit of aluminum from that 305 Honda looked brand new like it just came out of the molds.

That was probably regular Gunk.  nHydroseal was a no foolin strong cleaner.  We used it in heated agitated vats to clean flat motor
parts.  You floated water on top of it to keep the fumes down, hence the 'hydroseal'.  Only stuff that would cleany up VIO
(Helicopter engine) cylinder and head fins.  It would make a block and heads look brand new and ready for paint.
