That "shock" is something one of our customers found which we rigged up that I then asked Manng to make work. It is basically a Bilsttein shock fitted to a Firestone air bag eesigned for 3500 Chevy trucks. Sort of a concrrned ending design it did drive cross country with no problems. Its fitted to Mannys 1 ton suspension. We ended up removing the spacer fitting a nonduely offset front wheel which still llined up all wheels. While it did offer front height control, proper camber and toe were effected. Though steering did seem to be effected still only allowing for @ 2-3 " of travvel it really did jow effect ride height that much. Was a co ol thing to try. You need to god "too far" to know where too far is. I know where that place is on this idea.. Not sure the design is stable but that's the way rthings go when you try sometuing different, there are always "unexpected resultd".
As far as drive shafts, eventually we all will probably be 1 tonning the rront suspension, Manny has already had shafts produced for the retrofit. I expect we all will benefit from uis sizable investment into our future he has made. The offshore produced shafts are throw aways and the toro shaft that's out there is junk. Pressed on outer cv cannot be rebuilt and the innner does not have a centering locater slot. The casting is rough, bearing balls smaller and not coming off the shaft, they cannot be rebuilt-- like I said, junk! If you want performance, go 1 ton.

I went looking at some of the pictures and I came across one by Steve and the name of the picture was;
Mannys-front-air-ride

Is this an air shock or an air ride system?

Tony (Ontario Canada) Marie and I are blessed to have had a 2nd chance to buy our farm. Someday I hope to build the garage of my dreams. We have 4 Ultravans & 2 Corvairs. Our 1970 Ultravan #520 has an Olds Toronado 455 in back.
