Oops, forgot--- I posted the entire instruction sheet to build and install plus a couple other helpful pics on my daily pose page for those that would like to see what's involved.

Respectfully Gene, if your motor fails--- pull over!  5-6 hits will get you safe, don;t "drive" with your motor off.  You have no power steering!  You can get in real trouble backing up with no steering to speak of.  Plus a non driven system (passive) is so much more reliable.  You are hoping you never need it but when you do-- it needs to help you stop.  That is a safety "countermeasure" device.  Having a motor, a relay and maybe even a diaphram that can fail is not to me a safety device.  Forget backing down the hill, let AAA deal with where the coach rested, at least you are safe.

Sorry man, don;t mean to start something up but there are piles of lurkers and first time people reading all of this-- I do think they need to know all sides of an issue.  You and I have been here before and agree there are 2 ways-- I'm not calling a vacuum pump crap, please don;t camm a passive, 2 vacuum tank back up system ineffective.
