Just an update on the re-power project. I managed to dismantle the donor vehicle and scrap most of the unwanted pieces before we left for the holiday's
Although we're in San Diego with the grandchildren for the holiday's and then off to Quartzsite for a month, the internal wheels just keep on turning. I have picked up a couple of NP 205 transfer cases that I think should work but while here (San Diego), I ran into something very interesting. I found a Revcon being dismantled. It still had the BW transfer case attached to the TH400. Anyway, long story short, I have the transfer case, front axle and stub axles in the back of my VW Sports Wagon(poor thing). It looks like an almost bolt up swap to mount the T.C. to the 4L80e. The Revcon used a Dana 70 with inboard u-joints and outboard cv's which would be an easy fabrication job. Much easier than having special axles machined I'd think.
I picked the parts up 9 miles from my daughter's house and plan on running over to a local shop that has done quite a few of these B.W. cases according to the Revcon site. The motorhome had a 'shown' 70,000 miles and the case seems tight but it might be wise to freshen it up a little anyway. Small world for sure.
Anyway, it'll a while before we're home and 'real' progress can resume.
The fever continues,
Hal
