Life is an interesting adventure isn't it? We just have no idea where it
will take us. I bought my dream GMC this year (my 4th one!), a 1976 23'
Birchaven with a rear bath in average condition, that needs some TLC. I was
really looking forward to tinkering on her. I have wanted a 23 footer, and a
1975 or later to enjoy some of the improvements made on the production line.
I found her!

Unfortunately, I find myself with absolutely no free time to work on my GMC.
My Mother now has Alzheimer's and is requiring more and more attention and
care, and being a realist I know that this situation won't improve anytime
soon. I realized the other day that I haven't even seen my GMC in about two
months, and she deserves much better care than this.

But wait, you're asking yourself about the 1975/1976 confusion. See, here in
California we are required to have our vehicles smog checked every two
years. There are several exemptions to this law and one of them is vehicles
that are 1975 and older (fixed year, not rolling as in the past). This is
what caught my eye and I watched this particular GMC for several months
before making the deal. It is in fact a 1976 model (built in late 1975), but
the previous owner was able to license it as a 1975 model. He actually had
the CHP inspect it, and the DMV looked over his documentation. Yay! No smog
check required! The owner of this GMC can add fuel injection, headers,
turbocharger, quad carbs or whatever your heart desires and the State can't
say a thing about it.

This GMC has original paint. The stripes were removed by the P.O.
Approximately 75,000 original miles, Power Level air system with Slaten
valves and new hoses (it hasn't leaked down in six months) and new air
compressor, Onan 4k generator, Alcoa clone aluminum wheels, "custom"
stainless steel toolbox inside the rear bumper. I also have a new PD 9260
power converter that I haven't installed yet. It will have a new engine
battery, but will need new house batteries.

What she needs is a good cleaning, new tires, new air bags (Sully's bags
were on my short list), all rubber fuel hoses replaced, window moldings,
lights replaced, etc. You know, the usual.

It is all original inside except the carpet has been replaced with a
laminate. All original appliances and roof air, which I have not tested as I
was planning on replacing them. I also have not tested the Onan as I wanted
to replace the fuel line before doing so. The previous owner (he's the 2nd)
told me that everything worked. Again, I was planning on updating and
replacing everything anyway, so it wasn't a concern of mine.

The GMC is registered through June (?) of 2014. I have the title as well as
all maintenance receipts since about 1992. All applicable maintenance and
parts manuals, and a several year collection of GMC Motorhome Marketplace
magazines.

I think that I have covered everything except for the price. I am asking
$4,900 obo.

You can see some images of the GMC here: http://www.gmc-guy.com/My_GMC.html

If you would like to see anything specific, or have any questions please
email or call.

I'm offering this to our group before I post it on Craigslist or eBay.

Thank you,

Guy Lopes
