Good evening fellow inmates.
I did the grease fitting mod on front bearings a few months ago with all new bearings and seals. Have noticed I can see grease on the left one and hear it's noise when topping them off. Must have let the CV shaft slip back a little and folded the inner seal over on itself and its leaking. Going to pull it back off tomorrow and replace it. Found in the pile of parts my PO left me 2 front inner seals, on one the body is red and the rubber is real pliable with its inner ID being a couple of thousands bigger than the other one and the lip that rides on the CV body is about .020" taller than the other one. The other one is the standard grey/green color on most seal bodies and a much harder rubber. I remember some comments on seals being to deep and the difference in brands.Just need my memory refreshed on which seal is recommended. Thanks in advance.
