Thanks Steve. I just bought this '76 Eleganza II with the Alco's. The tires have great tread but only used 3,000 miles in the last 5 years. The tires are Michelins and are older than 5 years with some dry rot. The backs don't look bad. I am replacing the fronts first and will do the back in the spring. Don't want a blow out on the front. We do some winter camping not more than 200 miles away.

Hard to argue against Michilin, however, Best is very subjective. My coach won't see many miles so I would not pay up for them while you might. Also research poly vs steel in the side walls. My personal opinion is the Michilin is likely one of the best but not best in all circumstances. If cost is no issue then go for it.
I wish I had aluminum wheels and a set of new Mischilin's!
I need to do the front bearings first and then maybe new tires in the spring. I know the smart money long term is to go aluminum but it is tempting to just buy 8 16.5's and mount six in the coach, one spare on a rim, and an additional unmounted spare in roof storage or at home all boxed for shipping to needed location?
