I've put together this brief video showing the new recessed bunk hooks in my '76 Palm Beach. If I understand it correctly the '76 and older coaches used a protruding metal loop that the top bunk hooked onto. '77 and '78's used a recessed hook. The bolt pattern was different between the two so swapping the hook would require drilling the ribs.
My friend Mark Martinek has a good sized sheet metal and precision machining shop here in Fremont and made some hooks for me from scrap stainless. He entered the job in his cad system and then ran the job from a laser table. He recorded the laser job on his iPhone, and I wanted to share that with you - but I couldn't leave well enough alone - I had to show off my very green Palm Beach.
Enjoy the video - it's only a few minutes so it shouldn't be too painful to endure!
