My wife and I just bought a 1973 Canyon Lands and
are in the process of refurbishing the interior. I have a few questions about
that and will no doubt have others later. I was hoping that I could pick the
brains of those of you who have had these for a while. I am really impressed
with the way everyone who has a GMC motorhome seems to be so ready to lend a
hand. It seems to be more like an extended family rather than just a group of
people who happen to own the same type of vehicle.
Anyway, my question is about the insulation in the
side walls. When we removed the wall coverings in the living area we found what
appears to be black mold on the foam insuluation, I would assume from the
windows leaking at some point. The leaks have been stopped but it has left us
with a black and smelly mess. I have taken the foam with the mold off of the
sides and now am ready to replace the insulation with something before I recover
the walls. What should I use to re-insulate the walls with? Any suggestions
would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
Lane B
