I was told a prototype version of this caddy sold for $24k in 1956 dollars. It was shipped to the dealer on its own rail car.

It was NOT marked as a biaritz, simply Eldorado. It was invoiced as a "parade car" and came with fiberglass shrouds to cover the back seats. The dealer said it also had a prototype engine, but that's all I know. It did have two 4-barrel carbs and would bury the speedo.
